Well, I got my computer fixed. Would you believe that all my computer needed was a (rather lengthy and time consuming) virus scan??? It was an upgrade! Who would have thought? Now that the computer is happy, my life is back on track. Woohoo!
Well, as I said earlier, yesterday was my birthday. RAM croaked out happy birthday as soon as we woke up yesterday, and Abigail practically burst onto her porch while I was on a walk with Peace so she could be the very first person outside of my house to wish me happy birthday. I also received well wishes from Chosen and Judah.
At work, I received flowers from my loving husband.
Dinner was at an exclusive French restaurant called Courtine’s. We toasted with an excellent white zinfandel (had two glasses each, actually). We shared a three cheese spinach strudel that melted in our mouths as an appetizer. RAM had the minestrone, and I had an excellent house salad with gorgonzola cheese and a homemade creamy garlic dressing. Dinner was filet mignon. RAM’s was a pepper filet paired with excellent jumbo grilled shrimp (I tried one). Mine was a filet stuffed with spinach and gorgonzola cheese (what? I had a craving, okay?!). And for dessert……vanilla AND chocolate creme brulee. (Are you jealous yet? What can I say? My loving husband is a prince.)
We came home, and I dropped in on Abigail, Judah, and Chosen, who were having dinner at Abigail’s house. I told them all about dinner, and then they asked the big question: “What did you get for your birthday?”
“I have no idea,” I said.
“Well, what are you doing *here*?! Go home, find out, and come back and show us!”
It was getting late, and I told them I would blog all about it this morning, having forgotten my computer’s ailments. Now, you know you have special friends when you would rather drop in on them than find out what you got for your birthday.
Okay, I’ve kept you in suspense long enough.
First was a new backpack for my laptop. Isn’t RAM thoughtful?
Joy, Peace, and Independence got me a new purse/organizer.
My parents gave me yarn money. Woohoo!!! (Can you say, “Koigu!”?) And my in-laws gave me a Timex clock that plays soothing sounds and some worship CDs (although I technically haven’t received those yet).
While all these gifts are very thoughtful, and I love them all, there was one gift that stood above the rest. I had been wanting it for so long that I actually forgot about it.
My husband and I picked out the rocking chair this morning. Doesn’t Peace look so cute in the chair, and Joy beside her?
Now, I can sit on my patio and knit away all that stash, courtesy of Abigail. (I can say it now. Aren’t you proud?)
Have a wonderful Resurrection Day, everyone! Remember Him who blesses us so abundantly and meets all of our spiritual and physical needs, and whose blood covers all our sins.

Yes, I think you got some wonderful presents. The rocking chair is most excellent.
